Valparaiso, on July 2 nd , 2003 was declared "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO; this city placed in the Pacific coast, one hour and a half from Santiago, has a special personality that can only be discovered walking through its narrow alleys in one of its numerous hills.
The city of Santiago is located in the Maipo Valley , famous because of its production of red wines; besides, the biggest vineyards began doing business in this area, many years ago.
COLCHAGUA´S WINE ROUTE, THE SPIRIT OF CHILEAN COUNTRYSIDE
Our excursions departs heading South to the Sixth Region of our country, famous because of the production of copper and exportation fruits, but also to the area of Colchagua, home of our purest rural traditions and well know because of its "Huaso" (typical Chilean country man) culture.
In this excursion we show the outskirts of Santiago , arriving at the area of Pirque, southern border of Maipo Valley , famous for its red wines irrigated by the river of the same name, this area still conserves the rural traditions in some constructions and customs.
This excursion is one of Alex's favorites, because the connection with the mountains.
